J.R. Newcomb spoke on several computer matters including that support is already gone for Vista without service pack 1. Also, there is no direct upgrade to Windows 7 for Windows XP and XPs last service pack is out now. Windows 7 comes with all of its drivers and according to J.R. it is a great operating system!

He also spoke to us about Malware (malicious spy ware). Watch out for messages saying that “your account has been compromised”. Malware is worse than viruses and can cost anywhere from $45 to $135 to remove!

Tidbits of info from J.R. were Make sure you have service pack 2 for your Vista program! Always say yes to windows update messages, especially 07. Don’t go with 64 bit. There’s no charge for diagnostics. Norton and McAfee are resource hogs… go with Vipre 4.0 instead to protect you from viruses and spy ware.
