Gary Dagastine, Northwest Recumbent Cycles. LLC
Recumbent cycles were first developed by the French in the 1700s. The first one was actually made of wood. In 1930, recumbent cycles were banned from cycle racing because, by their nature, they are so much faster than standard cycles.
The word "Recumbent" means Reclined or Laying Down. They come in several different configurations and two or three wheeled models.
Even though a Recumbent rider is in a more comfortable position, the body mechanics and muscles used to ride a recumbent enhances the "workout potential of these cycles.
