Ralph Ker, Wildlife Photography
I started wildlife photography primarily as a hobby, taking my camera on vacations and attempting to capture images of animals and birds. At one point I realized that it was really good “therapy” as a diversion from my day job as a CPA. That started me on a journey of trying to learn to be a photographer. Fortunately I made the acquaintances of some professional photographers who were willing to give me pointers and contribute to my learning experience. I also joined a Nature Photographer Network on the internet to post photos for positive critique from photographers around the world. All of this contributed to my learning a bit more about photography. I know there is still much to learn but the schooling is fun. I started producing a wildlife calendar to give to my family members as Christmas presents since so many of us enjoy the out-of-doors. It was a hit and so I have kept at it. The enjoyable challenge comes each January when I need to get 13 more good images.
