The Recruiting office is currently located at 205 W. Prairie Avenue in Hayden Idaho. I share an office with 5 active duty Army recruiters.

455th Combat EngineersThe 455th Combat Engineers located at 1601 Wyoming Ave in Hayden Lake. Combat Engineers like to work outside and are a tight knit unit. They are definitely not an office crew. They specialize in C-4 and other explosive devices and calculate charges for example Bridges/steel beams/trees. They also use Shape charges, Bangalore torpedoes and other explosive devices for various uses and Wire obstacles. The vehicles they use are Humvee's, 5-ton dump trucks, Armed personnel carriers, Backhoes, Bulldozers, and Flat Bed Semi Trucks.

The positions they have available are:

  • 21B = Combat Engineer,

  • 74D = Chemical Operations Specialist,
  • 62B = Construction Equipment Repair,
  • 63B = Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic,

659th Engineering Company659th Engineering Company (Road Construction) located at 3800 N. Sullivan Road in Spokane. This company likes to be out working on their equipment. They have their own Rock Quarry near Fairchild AFB and Blow up Rock and Crush it and mix with Asphalt to build roads.

The positions available are:

  • 21E = Heavy Construction Equipment Operator,
  • 21V = Concrete and Asphalt Equipment Operator,
  • 88H = Cargo Specialist (Forklift)
  • 92A = Automated Logistical Specialist.

3/415/104th Drill Sergeants 3800 N Sullivan, Spokane: This Battalion trains Drill Sergeants and fills in where needed at various Basic Training locations. They are very professional and sharp soldiers. There is always a need for Prior Service personnel here and awesome promotion potential. Also need prior service for instructor positions.

  • 00D = Drill Sergeant,
  • 92Y = Supply Sergeant,
  • 42A = Administration Specialist.

396th Hospital 4415 N Market, Spokane: This is a mobile hospital unit and has the ability to set up anywhere in short notice. The medical professionals that work in this hospital unit also work at Deaconess, Sacred Heart and Kootenai Medical Center and several major doctor's offices so you can network a great local full time career also.

  • 91WM6 = Practical Nurse,
  • 91D = Operating Room Specialist,
  • 91M = Nutritionalist,
  • 56M = Chaplains Assistant,
  • 52C = Heating/Air Conditioning,

643rd Transportation Detachment 4415 N Market, Spokane: This unit uses a bank of computers that are all networked to design the load plan for a ship that is at the Port of Tacoma.

Positions available:

  • 88N = Transport management Coordinator,
  • 25B = Information Systems Operator
  • 52C = Power Generation Equipment Repair.

981st Environmental Detachment 4415 N Market, Spokane: This unit does Water Samples, Soil Samples, Food and Drug inspection and basically looks for bad things in the environment.

Positions available:

  • 91S = Preventative Medicine Specialist.

SFC Randall Smith - ROTC Awards ceremony for Eastern Washington UniversityI am Randy Smith from the Army Reserve I am currently at 26 years with the Army. I was born here in Coeur d'Alene and raised on Idaho's first Tree Farm north of Hayden Lake where I plan to retire. I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren.

I graduated from Lakeland High School, North Idaho College and am currently attending Franklin University. I am a musician and play all the Low Brass horns; Tuba, Trombone, Baritone and Bass Guitar and my first job with the Army was Baritone Player. Other work experience includes 10 years with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Department and 5 years with Sunshine Mine. Each year, II have played with the North Idaho Symphony and Symphonic Band and, every year I play with the Perfection Nots in the 4th of July Parade.
